Very Rev. Robert J. Kantor
Rabbi Adam Miller
A Dialogue Between Priest and Rabbi Reflecting on
Pope Francis and Rabbi Skorka’s book:
On Heaven and Earth

Father Bob Kantor, Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and Rabbi Adam Miller, Rabbi of Temple Shalom, will engage in a dialogue based on a book co-written by Pope Francis (then Jorge Mario Bergolio) and Rabbi Abraham Skorka: "On Heaven and Earth." The book brings together a series of conversations between the authors - both tenacious promoters of interreligious dialogues on faith and reason - about God, fundamentalism, atheism, abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, and globalization. Father Bob and Rabbi Miller , as members of the Catholic-Jewish Dialogue of Collier County, will recreate this fascinating dialogue, making it relevant to our lives and providing us with a better understanding of these religions and their responses to the issues we face today.
Father Bob Kantor is the Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Vicar Forane for the Diocese of Venice’s Southern Deanery. He also serves on the Presbyteral Council, Personnel Board, Diocesan Building Commission, and on the Catholic-Jewish Dialogue of Collier County. A Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, Father Bob was appointed Diocesan Chaplain to the Knights in 2015. After having served in the United States Navy for more than 22 years, which included 5 tours of duty in Afghanistan and other parts of the Arabian Gulf, Father Bob is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol, serving as Leadership Officer for Naples Cadet Squadron.

Rabbi Adam Miller is the rabbi of Temple Shalom of Naples. His work reflects a passion for social justice, experience in interfaith relations, and a strong connection to Israel. He serves on the URJ Commission on Social Action of Reform Judaism (CSA) and the Central Conference of American Rabbi’s Committee on Justice, Peace, and Religious Liberties. Locally, he participates on boards for the Harry Chapin Food Bank, Jewish Federation of Collier County, and the Holocaust Museum & Education Center of Southwest Florida. Rabbi Miller is active in the local clergy association, and The Rotary Club of Naples.
